“Talia wake up!”
I groaned as I felt a weight on top of me.
“No” I moaned in protest.
“You better wake up, or else Kayden is not going to be happy with you” the voice said.
At the mention of Kayden’s name my eyes immediately shot open and I tried to sit up as quickly as I could. Again I felt a weight on top of me.
I finally located the source of my discomfort. Emily was lying on top of me, a wide smile plastered on her face.
“Morning, Talia” she chanted.
“Morning Emily, how are you?” I groggily answered her.
“I am good now that you are awake. Against Kayden’s orders of course”
I frowned at the statement.
“What do you mean ‘against Kayden’s orders’?” I inquired.
“Kayden ordered that no one should wake you up nor disturb you. He threatened to tear my head off if I did that” she said giggling.
I looked at her as if she had grown a second head.
“Then what in God’s name are you doing here Emily, do you want to anger him?” I almost shouted.
She simply giggled.
I was now beginning to think there was something really wrong with her. How could she be giggling when her life was in danger?
“Relax Talia, my life is not in danger” she said rolling her eyes at me.
I frowned at her. It was almost as if she read my mind, which I knew was impossible since she was human.
“You think too much Talia, relax. And besides, Kayden went out, so do not worry. I won’t tell if you don’t” she said wiggling her eyebrows.
I chuckled at this. She was so cute.
“So go take a shower, and come and have lunch with me” she said getting off the bed.
My eyes grew wide.
“Lunch?” I questioned, praying that she was joking.
“Yes. Well ignoring the fact that it is almost night time. And by the way, check your closet. ” she said and walked out.
I sighed absorbing in her words. I decided to go take a shower. After showering I opened some of the cupboards in the bathroom trying to locate a comb of some sort to remove the knots in my hair.
I was surprised to find it stocked with new hair accessories. Hair dryers, curling irons, and all types and sizes of combs or brushes.
I decided to straighten my hair, something I hadn’t done in a long time. It’s not like my previous situation had allowed me.
Afterwards I walked out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel. I went to the closet and when I opened it. I almost fainted. The once empty closet was stocked to the brim with all types of clothes, shoes and accessories. As I ran my hands through my clothes I realised they were mostly similar. It consisted of mainly really short pleated school girl skirts, small tight t-shirts and shirts. I walked further into the closet and saw many pairs of knee high socks of hundreds of colours.
I soon realised that Kayden wanted me all dolled up for him. I found it sweet really but it was a little too much. I mean why in God’s name would I wear this!
I chose one of the longer skirts, which wasn’t that long to be honest. I paired it with a button down shirt, which I realised after wearing it that it left a large portion of my breasts exposed. I wore the knee high socks and decided skip the heels. I slipped on a pair of Converse instead. We really needed to have a conversation about these clothes.
I walked out of the closet only to find Emily sitting on my bed, a tray of food placed beside her.
“I let myself in. Sorry.” she said.
“It’s fine, Emily”
She looked me over. I could tell by the way she frowned that she disliked the outfit I was wearing as much as I did.
“I’m gonna have to talk to Kayden about this.” She murmured to herself and I smiled. I was honestly grateful that she would do something to help me.
I sat down beside her, and we began to eat together, chatting and giggling like little kids. She had a mature mind for a 14 year old. And at times I questioned if she was really human. I noticed how she had the habit of answering unasked questions which roused my suspicion even more.
Our little happy bubble was short lived however, when Kayden stormed into the room. He looked irritated.
“Emily, what did I tell you?” He growled.
I flinched suddenly feeling very scared for Emily. She, on the other hand did not find the whole situation scary at all. She actually rolled her eyes at him. I was once again left with questions about their relationship. There had to be something I was missing.
Should I just ask?
“Kayden, you’re such a baby,” she whined and my jaw dropped to the floor.
“Emily, I warned you” Kayden’s voice boomed again.
“But Kayden you should know by now that when you tell me not to do something I do exactly that.” She persisted. She did not look scared in the least.
“Go downstairs and tell Leah you are under punishment.” He said through clenched teeth.
“But Kayden…..” she began again.
“I don’t like repeating myself Emily” he growled and I flinched once more.
This guy was scary. But was he really gonna hurt her, she is just a little girl after all.
“Fine, you big baby. I’m going.” She stood from the bed and for the second time in two days she stomped out of my room. She paused by the door and gave a mischievous grin before saying,
“Oh and Kayden, you have a poor fashion sense. Talia looks terrible in those, no offense Ta……..”
“Emily!” Kayden growled and Emily quickly opened the door and slid out of the room.
Kayden and I were left alone, my head lowered since I couldn’t bring myself to look at him.
“No” he said simply.
I frowned at him.
“What?” I asked in confusion.
“When Emily and I were having our little banter, you questioned in your head if would hurt her, and the answer is no” he said casually.
I simply nodded not understanding why he was telling me this.
“How was your sleep?” He queried.
“Comfortable, thank you, how was yours?” I inquired back.
“I don’t sleep, Talia. I do not need it. It’s a luxury I do not wish to indulge in.” he replied placing his hands in the pockets of his rather tight pair of pants, his eyes on me, observing me.
“Ohh” I said, mentally slapping myself for asking that.
“Did you like the clothes?” He asked.
I swallowed at his question, as I tried to find an answer that would not anger him.
“I demand an honest answer” he said before I could reply.
“Well, they were a little too revealing and they were not really comfortable” I said praying I had phrased it correctly.
I looked up at Kayden trying to discern whether I had angered him or not. He looked unaffected to say the least.
“Would you prefer to pick your own clothes?” He asked.
I hesitated for a while before nodding.
“Okay. But I will not say I’m not disappointed though. You look absolutely ravishing in that tiny ensemble, believe it or not”
“Well I’m glad we are in agreement on how tiny it is.” I scoffed suddenly forgetting my place.
He chuckled and turned towards the door, then paused and said,
“Come downstairs for dinner in an hour. We have a visitor”
I froze. For two reasons, one was he did not tell me what I was or was not supposed to do during dinner and two because I remembered how Kevin used to treat me when we had visitors.
“Talia” he growled, ” how the hell am I supposed to get rid of Kevin from your head. It’s getting kind of annoying how anytime I do or say something, you compare it to what Kevin did or said to you.”
I flinched as I realised he was right. He wasn’t pleased, and he had every right not to be. I was being kind of unfair to him. He deserved a chance to write his own story in my head. +
“I’m sor…..” I began
“Save it. And be a good little pet tonight. I would hate to have to punish you on your second day here” he wore a devilish smirk.
It was one that told me he would thoroughly enjoy punishing me.
